This will be my next project.
I want to but can’t bring myself to spend the money…
Some friends and I went to a painting class last night. Had so much fun!
Dear D,
Thank you! You’re always so sweet!
I’m an acrylic girl. Always have been. Oils intimidate me. Apparently it takes hours for them to dry! What is that about? Haha.
I buy my acrylics from Binders. I’m not sure if they have one in OK, but they are absoluetly fantastic. I’m a ‘preferred customer’, so sometimes they have really good deals on bushes and paints, and their canvases are always on sale. If Binders wasn’t around me, my next stop would probably be Michaels.
I typically paint with the brand ‘Basics’. Mainly because it’s cheapest. However I love ‘Golden’ and ‘Liquitex’. But it’s rare if I buy that…stupid budget! ;)
Hope this was helpful!
*Oh! I forgot to say, I paint with mainly pallette knives. I love brushes, have a whole drawer full. But there is something about a pallette knife that pulls at my heart. :)
Like i said earlier, my apartment was a tiny little studio this weekend.
This I one of the pieces I painted. I ended up really liking it. The canvases are 8x8.
The boy left this morning to go to New Orleans on a mission trip with our church. He’ll be gone for 5 days. I will miss him terribly, but I’m very happy to be getting some me time to paint. I need to get ready for this art festival* I’m going to enter! So excited!
I’ll explain more about that once it gets closer. Fingers crossed they invite me!
This weekend is going to be a paint fest for me! I’m going to turn my tiny apartment into a studio and just go to town! I really can’t express my excitement.
I’m registering soon to be in an art festival in June. So I gotta be prepared in hopes they “invite” me. Fingers crossed!
(I painted the cupcake. Check it out here)
I had a fabulous Valentine’s weekend! (in case anyone was wondering). It consisted of banana pancackes, going to the High Musuem and seeing the da Vinci exhibit (so interesting!), watching the Valentine’s Day movie (we loved), church, naps, lots of kissing and hand-holding, and my favorite: pottery painting. The boy and I each painted a cup and saucer and had a blast. (Mine has polka dots!) Unfortunately, the worst thing happened right after painting…someone backed into my car and messed up my bumper! (Poor Urb!) However, they’ve been nice so far and are insistent on getting little Urb fixed. So that’s good!
Hope your weekend was stellar!
Cheesy cheesy
So, the boy and I don’t have a lot of money, so we decided we’re going to make gifts for Valentine’s day. THEN, we thought of a great, cheesy day date. There’s a pottery painting place about 20 minutes from my house. That’s where we’ll be on the big red day.
One more sneak peak just because I love this one.
